As a personal fitness professional, they can provide advice as well as take your own attitude into account and keep you motivated as you push towards your goals.Stay on track with a personal sports coach ¦ source: Visualhunt - Sole TreadmillThe term ‘coach’ dates back to the 16th century. ‘Coach’ comes from the Old French word, ‘coche’ meaning ‘horse-drawn carriage’.In the mid-19th century, ‘coaching’ began to be used to describe a teacher helping a student prepare for their final exams, however, it was not until 1860 that ‘coaching’ entered common use in a sporting context.Private coaching, also known as personal fitness training is not limited to physical improvement. Unlike general sports coaching (for football, for example), personal training is about the wellbeing of a client just as much as it is about their sporting a bility. For this reason, a personal trainer would be able to help you improve your confidence, gain new life skills and feel more comfortable in your own skin as well as helping you become physically healthier. The International Coach Federation defines personal training as the tailored support of an individual in the implementation and the evolution of their project. In a personal training arrangement, the coach helps the athlete fulfil their maximum potential through personalised training programs and fitness nutrition plans as well as progress tracking.Search for personal trainers near me.In-Home Personal Training: Low Hassle FitnessPersonal training means professional support from a fitness specialist with a personal trainer certificate.Personal trainers use their program design skills and the knowledge they have acquired through their years of experience in the fitness industry to provide their clients with a tailored exercise program specifically designed to help them achieve the ir goals. In addition to offering one to one support and individualised advice, personal trainers can adapt their services to your situation. If you’re a busy mum, or your career doesn’t leave you much free time, coaches can come to your home.Whether it’s to help a client get in shape, lose weight, gain muscle mass, improve their flexibility, increase muscular strength or prepare for a sports tournament, in-home personal trainers are able to provide quality workout plans and personal training sessions which you can do without leaving the house!Advantages to In-Home Personal TrainingSave time: With the removed hassle of making the journey to the gym and finding a parking space, you’ll have more time on your hands to use however you wish.Stay motivated: Managing to put on your sports kit and head to the gym on your own isn’t always easy, but with a coach who comes to your door, there will be no room for excuses, and with someone to guide you, you’re far more likely to succee d in your objectives.Personalisation: Unlike the type of training you find in gyms (which is usually done as part of a group fitness class), private coaching is centred around you, the client. This means that your fitness program and workouts are prescribed based on your physiology, body composition and aerobic ability, following a fitness assessment with your trainer.Professional services: In-home personal trainers are fully qualified in what they do, and have the knowledge to advise on a wide variety of topics, from how much sleep you should be getting, to the time of day you should be working out, to post-workout snacks. Th is can keep you motivated and give you peace of mind that your coach is fully qualified and approved by the organisation.Realise your dreams: Your personal trainer will provide you with a training program that is made with you in mind, and with full access to the gym facilities, your coach will be able to take you through your workouts, so you never hit a dead end in your sessions.A source of motivation: Having your personal training session at the gym means that you will be surrounded by others who are working just as hard as you are, but the difference is that you’ll have professional guidance on taking your training to the next level, removing the risk of stagnation.A relationship of trust: Just as with in-home coaching, arranging to your personal trainer at the gym adds a layer of confidence, since both parties have to commit to the agreement. The relationship of trust that develops from this is key to obtaining positive results.Group Fitness Classes: A Cost-Efficient OptionAs the old saying goes, ‘the more, the merrier’!Setting out to get fit as a new year’s resolution, training in preparation for a competition, or just trying to burn some calories demands a lot of motivation.Trying to do these things alone isn’t always easy, and a lack of motivation is the reason why so many people fall back into their old habits. So, can group training help you see your fitness program through?Exercising as part of a group means that you can feed off the energy of other people in the training session.Interacting with fitness experts as well as others in your position will give you a chance to listen to other people’s experiences, motivate each other and share tips on every aspect of health and fitness. So, how does group coaching work? You’ll get together a group of friends or colleagues and register for group training with your chosen gym.Just as with one on one training, you’ll have a pre-programme meeting to discuss your lifestyles and fitness goals so t hat the coach can set out an appropriate training program for the group.Wherever you choose to have your training sessions, you’ll have the company of 2 to 3 others as well as your fitness coach â€" so there’s no need to worry about losing motivation! The Increasing Popularity of Personal TrainingPersonal training services are in higher demand than ever before â€" and the increasing popularity shows no signs of slowing.Word of mouth works well, and it means that happy customers become ambassadors for whichever personal training business they use, recruiting more people and introducing them to personal training. Is the internet the answer to everything including sport? ¦ source: Pixabay - FirmBeeClients are always gaining more knowledge about the types of health problems they may encounter in their lifetimes, and exercise is usually a recommended prevention method, so finding a personal trainer gives them a proper focus for this. With more demand comes more diversity in what person al trainers have to offer. This is why more and more coaches are offering their services as an online personal trainer. The internet offers even more flexibility and choice in working with your personal coach.Of course, the cost of a personal coach who works around you is often higher than those who work solely at the gym, simply because of travel time and journey costs.

Job Search Made Easy (Even for Introverts) - Introvert Whisperer

Introvert Whisperer / Job Search Made Easy (Even for Introverts) - Introvert Whisperer Job Search Made Easy (Even for Introverts) While launching a job search may not rank in difficulty with rocket science, it has become increasingly difficult and more complex. If you add on top of that some Introvert tendencies, like a reluctance to “put yourself out there,” you are starting to nudge the scales towards seriously tough. If you are on the brink of launching a job search or have started one, hit the pause button before doing anything else. There are some simple guidelines you can follow to ensure you get the results you want, without the standard Introvert cringe: 1. Don’t Cherry-Pick Job Search Advice There are volumes on job search advice. If you pay attention, you’ll notice there are themes or things that get repeated. This should be a huge indicator that you need to do this “thing.” Too often I see job seekers decide to skip what they are being told to do. This will have dire consequences. 2. Don’t Do Everything at Once You will get overwhelmed, especially if you are an Introvert. You have to figure out your keywords, branding, LinkedIn profile, Facebook, Twitter, resume, online job sites, the latest and greatest job search tool, finding recruiters, interview prep, salary study, body language, handshake, new wardrobe, company research, networking and attending business events. Long list? That’s just to name a few. The deal is, if you attempt to bite off too much at once, you’ll choke or die trying. (Like this thought? Tweet it!) Start by being abundantly clear on one or two  â€œjob types” you are pursuing. You’d be shocked at how very few job seekers have real clarity. Then, work on a targeted resume. 3. It’s All About Connecting I deliberately put this in the middle, as Introverts really like to avoid this one (it’s the cherry-picking I told you about in #1). Most likely, you won’t find a job via a posted job. I’m sure someone has landed a job this way, but no one I know has been hired solely by pursuing a posted job. That means you and your resume have to connect to a real, live person. You can do this primarily through referrals and introductions from the people you know. People hire people. The online job search comforts Introverts because they don’t have to connect to a person. It’s a false sense of comfort. Start out to build your confidence. Set up coffee with one person you know so you can let them know what you’re looking for and see if they can introduce you to someone in your targeted company. Rinse and repeat. You will build confidence by doing this one at a time. 4. Figure Out YOUR Competitive Advantage You must think you have something to offer or you wouldn’t be pursuing a job. Why you? What is the thing that will set you apart from everyone else? You have to get it first or no one else will. If you can figure out your competitive advantage, you can translate that into everything from your resume to your LinkedIn profile. We are all unique, even if we do the same job as a thousand other people. 5. Don’t Take Things Personally You will discover a complete lack of etiquette out there. People don’t return emails or phone calls, they fail to follow up after interviews and they expect you to drop things just because they are hiring. You must pick up the slack and make the phone calls until you get a real human and do superhuman rescheduling. It’s not because they don’t like you; it’s because hiring someone takes a huge bite out of their schedule, and business must go on. Oh well. As a fellow Introvert, your key to a flawless job search is to connect with people, which isn’t always easy. But if you take it slow and easy, trust most of what you read on the job search and know you are an asset, you’ll love the results. This post originally appeared on JobMob. What is it Like to Attend The University of New Mexico

What is it Like to Attend The University of New Mexico The tutors behind Varsity Tutors are not just here to teach theyre sharing their college experiences as well. Roxanne received her undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from The University of New Mexico. She is currently a tutor in Albuquerque specializing in algebra, biology, chemistry, and several other subjects. See what she had to say about her experience at The University of New Mexico:https://www.varsitytutors.com/algebra-tutors Describe the campus setting and transportation options. Roxanne: The University of New Mexico has very limited parking for students who do not live on campus. Most commuting students must purchase off-campus parking lot passes, and then ride shuttle buses to campus. Parking is expensive, so living near enough to campus to bike or walk is a great way to save money. The University of New Mexico parking and transportation department provides free city bus passes to students, which is another money-saving option. The campus is in the middle of Albuquerque between the Nob Hill district and downtown. The area is mostly safe, and the campus has thorough security. Lights have also been added around the more dimly lit areas of campus to increase night safety for students, but I wouldnt advise walking late at night alone. How available are the professors, academic advisers, and teaching assistants? Roxanne:This question is extremely class dependent. Some professors are incredibly helpful, whereas others are busy with their work. Academic advisers availability also depends on the area of study. Most department advisers have open hours of availability, but the university-wide advisers have more limited hours. Teaching assistants tend to be incredibly helpful during their office hours/help sessions, but it is important to remember that they are also students, and they have limited availability around exam times. How would you describe the dorm life rooms, dining options, location, socialization opportunities with other students? Roxanne:The University of New Mexico has a plethora of clubs and organizations, so every student should be able to find at least one that interests him or her. The school also hosts several campus-wide events for students to socialize and recruit for their organizations/clubs. Dorm life is dependent on the style of dorm that the student is placed in. The University of New Mexico has apartment style, suite style, and traditional dorms. I lived in both the suite style and apartment style dorms, and I much preferred the apartment style. Most students enjoy the community of the traditional dorms. Living in the dorms gives students many other opportunities to socialize through events scheduled by the Resident Advisers. The on-campus dining options are plentiful, and the main cafeteria, La Posada, was recently redone and is greatly improved. The area around campus has plenty of restaurants within walking distance, as well. Which majors/programs are best represented and supported? Roxanne:The University of New Mexico has a very diverse student body. Business, psychology, biology, and engineering are popular programs. I studied biology and chemistry. I began as a biology major with a chemistry minor, but I bumped chemistry up to a double major once I realized how much I enjoyed it. The university did a fine job of supporting my areas of study. The biology department has several advisers, making it relatively easy to find solutions to scheduling problems and other questions. The chemistry department is less supported, having only one adviser who is also the only adviser for the biochemistry department. How easy or difficult was it for you to meet people and make friends as a freshman? Does Greek life play a significant role in the campus social life? Roxanne:I was shy as an incoming freshman, and I had trouble meeting and talking with people at first. I joined Nourish International, and I also became friends with my dorm-mates. Events like Friday Night Live and other student union building-sponsored events were also helpful in meeting other students. Greek life does play a significant role on campus. I never pledged a sorority, but I know many people who were members of Greek life. How helpful is the Career Centerand other student support services? Roxanne:The University of New Mexico offers many students employment and work-study positions. The Career Center hosts several job fairs each semester. They tend to under-represent careers in the sciences, so for me they werent extremely helpful, but they do have many opportunities for other areas of work. How are the various study areas such aslibraries, the student union, and dorm lounges? Roxanne:The main campus library has recently been redone. The main area has many supplies for group and private study. If the main area is crowded, there are also several other computer labs and study rooms. If students need absolute silence to study, there is an entire wing of the library where no noise is allowed. The student union building is a great hangout spot, and it also has a computer lab and print area. The dorm lounge situation is dependent on the dorm. Several of the dorm common areas are newly refurbished, but some of the older buildings have rundown common areas that arent great for studying. Describe the surrounding town. Roxanne:The University of New Mexico is in the middle of town between downtown and Nob Hill. Albuquerque is close to several beautiful mountain ranges with many hiking trails. Some of my favorite things to do besides hike are visit trampoline parks, go to movies, and play putt putt golf. Students go downtown a lot on the weekends. Downtown is within walking distance of campus if students arent opposed to a decent walk. There arent many reasons to go to opposite sides of town from campus because they are mostly just residential areas. The University of New Mexico is placed in one of the busiest part of town. How big or small is the student body? Were you generally pleased or displeased with the typical class sizes? Roxanne:Again, this question is dependent on the area of study. Lower-level courses that many students take for their core curriculum are extremely large. My first class at The University of New Mexico had around 300 students. The honors program only allows up to about 12 students per class to suit the discussion setting of the courses offered. The higher-level classes tend to have fewer students because there are more options to fulfill degree requirements. Describe one memorable experience with a professor and/or class. Perhaps one you loved the most or one youregretthe most. Roxanne:I worked as a Peer Learning Facilitator (PLF) during my senior year of college. A PLF is similar to a teaching assistant, but we only work in lower-level science courses that have a high fail/drop rate to help students pass those classes and move on in their degree paths. We also only work for classes where a certain portion is dedicated to active learning. My last semester, I worked for a General Chemistry II course and absolutely loved it. The professor I worked with was incredibly fair and helpful to her students. She wanted everybody to have the opportunity to do their best. It was awesome being part of that class. Working with a professor who was so encouraging to her students was great! Being able to be a part of that class was something I loved most about college, and I wish I discovered the position earlier. Check out Roxannes tutoring profile. Dublado versus legendado

Image courtesy of Ambro / FreeDigitalPhotos.netNo Brasil, infelizmente, somos habituados a ver filmes dublados.
